Monas is one of the buildings into a tourist attraction in Indonesia. The monument is located in Medan Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, Indonesia, near the Presidential Palace. This is a memorial monument created to commemorate the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Building Monas has deep meaning, its form is represented as a combination of linga and yoni which symbolizes fertility and harmony, while the rate of height and width of the monument is composed of a combination of date, month and year independence of Indonesia.

At the top of the monument is shaped like a flame coated with gold weighing 50 kilograms. It symbolizes the spirit of struggle of the people of Indonesia are kept burning and never extinguished all time. Monument construction was started in 1961 through 1975, and until now the pride of the nation’s Indonesia monuments was still standing strong.

The beauty of Monas can be viewed from various angles of Jakarta, because built on an area of 80 hectares, with an altitude of 132 meters. On the outside of the monument, visitors can see beautiful gardens, decorated with a pool an area 625 square meters. Outside yard there is also a bas-relief depicting the history of Indonesia in the past glory. Tourists can also find out the history of the struggle of Indonesia by visiting the National History Museum at the base of Monas, and on the inside also, there is a space that save the symbol of state independence, the Indonesian archipelago map gold plated, the original manuscript of the Proclamation of Independence of Indonesia which is stored in a glass case, and within the gilded gates, and flag Nationality Indonesia ( red and white )

The most interesting for tourists who visit Monas is up to the top of the monument, and see the beauty of Jakarta city from a height of 115 meters.
